Transplant Links Community (TLC)
The Deck of Cards Art Auction is a fundraising initiative organised to raise money for British charity Transplant Links Community (reg. charity 1119923).
TLC are a group of volunteer surgeons, doctors, nurses, theatre technicians, anaesthetists and healthcare professionals who travel to developing countries to do the following:
- To share our skills in kidney transplantation with healthcare teams in Africa and the Caribbean
- To save the lives of children and adults who suffer with kidney failure by performing life saving kidney transplants
- To provide hands-on and remote support, mentorship and advice, with the goal in mind of helping the local healthcare teams to sustain an ethical living-donor kidney transplant programme
TLC became a registered charity in 2007 (no. 1119923) and since then we have provided training and support for hospitals in Ghana, Trinidad, Jamaica, Nigeria, Barbados, Zambia, Egypt, Nepal and Bangladesh. We donate our time and skill sharing at no cost, and are run by a small management team, keeping overheads very low.
